Pongal festivities at VNGS Navalur

"Pongal is a festival that connects all of us to our roots and traditions",exclaimed a parent.Pongal festival celebrated in VNGS Navalur was the one that refreshed our rich culture.This  was celebrated with pomp  and show at Velammal New Gen Navalur school, where the JKG children were invited with their parents. Some  grand mothers also joined the show stole the limelight. They volunteered to do the puja, upkeeping the  tradition and culture.The students entertained their parents with a mesmerizing folk dance.Parents,especially the mothers were excited and enthusiastic to participate in all the games conducted by the school like kummi dance, balancing the pot, skip the rope and many more.The program successfully ended with the prize distribution to the winners where again the  grandmother's stole the show by winning the prize for punctuality thus setting an example for their grand children,the Velammal way!
