Skill Expressive Champions - Culmination Day

 VNGS Madipakkam conducted the Skill Expressive Champions - Culmination Day on 25th January 2019 for Junior Kindergarten students. The school atmosphere was festive with lot of Parents to watch their kids present and perform for them on the D Day. "I am excited to see what my child is going to perform" said a parent, "I've taken a day off to see to my child in his classroom", "I feel privileged to have got this opportunity", "This initiate by school makes me feel so much connected to school" I love the transparency", said few parents as they walked into the classrooms.

The parents were welcomed with the prayer song followed by a dance. The students confidently started to express their literacy, numeracy and general awareness skills. The students elegantly blended the sounds of letters to read out the words and then the story books! Kids, enacted a story in which they appeared in the roles of a turnip, grandfather, a young boy, a girl, mother, cat and a rat. It was truly evidence to their theatrical skills. Yoga, freeze frames, decision alley (students could decide from the spread of the food items which is healthy and junk) were some of the activities they displayed. The kids never hesitated to  perform a mime on traffic safety rules or a skit on germination of seeds, "tiny seeds -turn plants" in front of a big audience. Tirukural, patriotic songs and folk dances were no less.

The kids amazed their parents by not only identifying the wild and the domestic animals but also the geometrical shapes, numbers and their spellings accurately. The students also participated in the concept games to show their collaboration. The Pre - Math skills that they learn at Kindergarten was a like a treat to the on lookers. The comparisons like tall -short, big - small, full- empty, more -less, same -different, heavy- light was splendidly showed. Few kids sat down to make some sketches and explained the depth in their master pieces. 

The school strives to include everyone to create a positive, nurturing and transparent atmosphere to help every child in scaffolding success and every parent to celebrate their child’s strengths!
