SKG-Skill Expressive Champions : Culmination Day on 12th Jan 2019

The day 12th Jan 2019 dawned with lot of anxiety and enthusiasm.The students of Senior KG were fully prepared and were ready to present the skills they have acquired in the school, as a treat to their parents. Invitations to  parents were sent and the classes were arranged to accommodate the parents and the students.More than the students, it was the enthusiastic facilitator-teachers who had put in their heart and soul to flaunt the learning that has happened in each child in their classes. All the events were planned around six major focus areas like:

·    Literacy

·    Numeracy

·    Personal,Social and Emotional Development

·    Knowledge and Understanding Values

·    Physical Development

·    Creative Development 

           It was a very interactive session for the parents, as they were to witness the students' understanding levels on these focus areas.  

The students exhibited the skills that they have acquired in Velammal classrooms namely,blending, reading, matching, finding the missing sounds, identifying the correct sight words, finding the missing numbers, before and after numbers, rhymes on various topics, role play in the form of songs and cookery .The events were enjoyed by parents to the core. Quiz by parents,impromptu on all these topics happened in the classes too, where parents had the opportunity to ask on the spot questions to assess learning, which brought out the best of the students. 

This gave an opportunity for students to boost  their  confidence levels , shed their stage fear and hone their presentation skills.A fulfilling day for parents, where more than the children, their heads were held high in pride and tears of joy rolled down their cheeks.The satisfaction on their faces  said non verbally, "YES" my child has learnt all this in the school and did his/her best today!!
