The Skill Culmination day for SKG students at Madipakkam...

 VNGS Madipakkam had “Skill Expressive Champions-Culmination Day” for the Senior Kindergarteners on 11.1.2019. The day was packed with  festive buzz and enthusiasm. The day was meant for students to express their skills in front of their parents. The parents could see their kids waiting in the wings, wrapped in tinsel and grinning from ear to ear to perform on day.

The students, looking so proud, expressed their literacy, numeracy and other skills and this made the parents overwhelmed with strong positive emotions. They delivered their diligently rehearsed lines from the skit and their language skills by reading story books, recitation, identifying sight words, rhyming words and framing sentences.

The event began with the school prayer and recital of slokas and a welcome song. The students demonstrated simple Math computational skills  involving concept of bundles in 10, shapes and addition. They were able to identify the sense organs and

tell its importance, demonstrated an experiment on how we get  secondary colors from the primary colors. They also enacted to show different human emotions through freeze frames, a theatre technique. They sang  on the importance of water and road safety."The increased confidence, poise, and discipline were evident” said a parent and “these activities for sure aid in developing the essential life skills”, said another, towards the end of the program.

VNGS Madipakkam strives to provide lot opportunities to students that encourage them to be curious and expressive (as they naturally are!).
