idiom “All work and no play make Jack a dull boy” holds true even for the young
learners. Sports, whether team-based or individual, are great for children as
they provide not just physical activity, but also help build children’s self-esteem,
confidence, social skills and motivate them to excel in life. In recognition of
the importance of sports in a child’s life, Velammal New Gen Kids of
Kelambakkam, Padur, Navalur and Sholinganallur organized their Annual Joint Sports
Day for students of Play School, Jr. KG and Sr. KG in the PBEL City Ground
Kelambakkam on February 16th 2019. Dr. Prabhu Mayakesavan. MD, Director of Medical Services of Chettinad Super Specialty Hospital Kelambakkam
graced the occasion being the chief guest and Mr. R Gunasealan, Former National
medalist and Chief Archery Coach of
Sports Authority of Karnataka was the guest of Honour. The event was presided by the School Group
Heads Mrs Ramya Ramanan and Mr. Mahesh in the presence of the Head of
Institutions of the esteemed four schools. The tiny tots
of the four schools displayed their physical skills through various dance and
drills with great zeal and fervor. The parent’s events winners were given away
with prizes by Dr. Prabhu Mayakesavan.
