CLEANSING OF THE MIND AND SOUL

Yoga is an invaluable gift of the ancient Indian tradition. It embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfillment; harmony between man and nature and a holistic approach to health and well-being. The word yoga literally means union. Through yoga you can explore profoundly the very mechanics of life.
It is more than burning calories and toning muscles, it is a workout where stretching poses along with breathing techniques relax one’s mind and body. There are many forms of yoga. Exercise takes care of body, while yoga is an approach for body and mind. Practicing yoga daily in the morning helps you rejuvenate your body, get relief from stress and concentrate on your work more efficiently. It also helps in improving postures, gain flexibility and improve memory.
It is a mind body workout where you have strengthening and stretching poses along with deep breathing techniques to relax your mind and body. The practice of Yoga is something that has the power to heal your entire body! It’s the best medicine than any doctor can ever give you. Yoga day is celebrated every year on 21st of June.
To promote this important day and to help students know the significance of this day Velammal New Gen School, Kelambakkam organized whole day yoga session to celebrate this day. It was a good start when the students had gathered to participate in the yoga sessions organized. Students were encouraged to add Yoga in their daily routine.

Students in Velammal New Gen School, Kelambakkam were already aware of the significance of yoga, but the Yoga Day celebrations gave it an extra emphasis. This was a completely enlightening experience for the students and they felt blessed themselves, who became more familiar with this kind of art.
Yoga is a light, which once lit, will never dim. The better you practice, the brighter the flame.
