We at Velammal provide opportunities for holistic development in students. They are trained and fielded for interschool competitions conducted by the other schools in the city.

Yesterday,12th July 2019, 63 students of VNGS Medavakkam, 67 students of VNGS Shollinganallur & 37 students of VNGS Madipakkam participated in the Inter school competitions conducted by PSBB called Sulakshya '19.The students participated in many events and bagged prizes.

We always believe that winning is not everything .Every competition is an opportunity for self-empowerment, no matter students win or lose. All the participants cannot be winners but when they decide to participate, they are gifting themselves with a golden opportunity for showcasing their talents in front of everyone.

Interschool competition is a great chance provided for students to understand their own strengths and weaknesses and helps them to take proper measures to correct their mistakes and explore to get the best out of them next time.

Velammal does not emphasize only on winning, because, when we do that, unknowingly students develop a fear for failure. In a competition, students get an opportunity to meet and interact with new people, learn new things and develop new skills. It’s a chance given for self-challenge.
