Creative Ideas of children to conserve water at the Skill Day of Velammal...

The Visual Arts Exhibition was kept open to the parents of grades 6-8 on 6th July 2019 in VNGS Madipakkam,VNGS Medavakkam & Velammal Vidyalaya NewGen school,Shollinganallur.

The topic was Creative Ideas to conserve water. The students came out with many creative ideas to conserve water.Since it was a Skill Day to showcase the thematic visual art samples of students, the exhibition had the following

• Paintings 
• Drawings  
• Posters 
• Slogans
• Clay sculptings  
• Photography 
• Video film shows
• Craft work  
• Collage  
• Origami displays   

                               The parents were invited and the students confidently spoke about  the current scenario  at Chennai  and how we can join hands to overcome this.They gave suggestions on how to conserve water.Some students gave suggestions for the government .They spoke on how the treatment of sewage water could be done by huge plants of the COC, and supplied to the houses and the establishment of many desalination plants.Most of them brooded over how Chennai was flooded two years before and due to the poor maintenance of the lakes and ponds ,now it is parched and bone dry.The exhibition also had juxtaposed photos of the floods then and the scaly lake beds now . 

                               When the students spoke some parents were even moved to tears. Velammal's Skill Day-Visual arts  had a message to all of us, that, we should judiciously use water,conserve every drop of water and make conscious efforts to store surplus water during the forthcoming Chennai monsoons.
