Off to Esparanza to bring a booty…
The Hindustan
International School- Karapakkam sent out the invite to participate in its
interschool competitions and cultural fest-Esperanza
on Friday the 2nd of August 2019.
The
schools VNGS Medavakkam,Madipakkam&Shollinganallur had the auditions, selected
the candidates and trained them for the event.
On
the event day, the students were all set to participate, clinch victory and grab
as many prizes as possible. At Esperanza there were nearly 2000 participants
from all the schools of the city.
Velammal
gives students the right training and exposure and does its part to provide
holistic development in the students. With this boost of confidence the students
were ready for the tough competition.
The
teams from VNGS did their best and to the awe of several schools, took many
prizes too.
VNGS
Medavakkam team with Monish Kumar & Nimalesh of grade
VII bagged the 3rd prize in the MASTER MIND QUIZ,a
theme based quiz on FIFA.The competition was stiff, but the students never
gave up.
Next,
it was time for BON APPETIT, a Fire/Flame less cooking competition and the team from VNGS
Medavakkam with Ritvik of grade
VIII, Sugadhev, Bhuvanesh, & Deepti of grade VI did their best and grabbed
the 1st prize .This pepped up their spirits.
Then,
there was a call for CHANNELER,a channel surfing event and many schools
participated in this event. The smart boys of grade IX from VNGS
Shollinganallur gave a tough fight and emerged winners .They competed with the
grade XII boys of the other schools. The team with Samuel Chantler Jones,Madhan
kumar,Girish & Harish bagged the third prize and there was a special mention about their creativity, sense of humour, spontaneity
and relevance.
Next
in the line-up was RAPUNZEL,a Hair dressing competition and the team with Shalini
& Neha of grade VII from VNGS Medavakkam bagged the
first prize.
Now
there was an announcement for ON THE SPOT,OPEN CATEGORY CHESS
COMPETITION and the boys, Rakeshraja, Saiprashanth & Austin from grade VIII of VNGS Shollinganallur competed
with senior students and bagged the first prize.
Finally
there was the FASHION WEIRD, a costume designing from waste cum
ramp-walk event and the team from VNGS Medavakkam consisting of Ritvik of grade VIII, Shalini & Lakshanya
of grade VII once again bagged the first prize.
By this time the name of Velammal started
reverberating in the campus and the young students won not only prizes but also
the hearts, as the judges remarked that the Velammal students exhibited
confidence, as well as stayed well-mannered. This is the mark of a Velammalian !

Congrats to all kids who had Participated in these events and Thanks to all supportive Parents who ensured their kids are trained , equipped with ideas to execute. It's more than kids it's their parents who were running behind as master brains.

In spite of reaching the venue late , the kids managed to tackle the situ and I hope this kind of obstacles should be eradicated in upcoming events planning.
