A memorable day for the grandparents of VNGS Medavakkam
Grandparenthood is a significant and meaningful role for older persons.The older persons derive high levels of satisfaction and pleasure from their grandchildren, and the salience of the relationship is something that is reciprocated. So,when VNGS Medavakkam sent out the invite for Grandparents' Day ,as many as 260 grandparents from the 23 sections of KG classes, had sent their consent to participate in the event. Today,the 31st August 2019,to mark the Grandparents' Day, the school had a special welcome arch to greet the senior citizens.The grandparents play many different types of roles for their grandchildren, including that of historian, mentor, role model, and surrogate parent. But today they became buddies ,partnering with their grandchildren.
