Creativity at its best… Poetry writing can have a positive impact on the social and emotional learning of children. Understanding the importance, Velammal NewGen schools had the Skill Day : Verse Writing for students of grades VI-VIII in the Velammal NewGen campuses  at Medavakkam,Madipakkam,Shollinganallur,Navalur & Kelambakkam on Saturday the 7 th September 2019. Students were explained on how poetry is an art of writing emotions down and it is important as it help students understand and appreciate the world around them. It is a beautiful way for students to express their feelings, hopes, dreams, and even a great way to get their fears and nightmares out of their heads. It’s like journaling for imaginative minds.   The nuances of good poetry writing like using poetic devices and rhyme scheme were taught to students by the English teachers in the schools.
