Leaders in "V" posture, symbolic of Velammal

                                 Velammal Vidyalaya NewGen School, Shollinganallur always strives to inculcate a sense of responsibility and commitment among the students. With the beginning of the new academic session for the year 2019-20, an Investiture ceremony was organized today, the 23rd of July 2019. The ceremony commenced with the soulful rendition of the School Prayer. On this solemn occasion, the young students were prepared to don the mantle of leadership and responsibility with utmost dedication. Initially, the candidates had prepared and presented strong speeches in front of all the students and teachers to qualify for the Elections. A democratic voting procedure was followed which ultimately formed the school student council of the year.
The newly elected student council members pledged to work earnestly and uphold the honour and glory of the institution while receiving their prestigious badges from the Chief Guest, Mr.P.Ramalingam, Retd, DIG, Central Reserve Police.The Head Boy, Head Girl, Sports Captains and House Captains stood tall while holding the flags of Velammal, as destiny prepared itself to bring in many more laurels to the institution. The school band set the tone and added vibrancy to the day. The parents of the newly inducted office bearers had tears of joy and applauded every now and then. They exclaimed that the coordinated marching and the prim salutes of the students proved the mettle of the school PETs, Mr Dinesh, Ms.Udaya and Ms.Sangeetha.
Mr.P.Ramalingam the Chief Guest, gave a speech to the children on his past experiences in life and explained to them how his school helped him shape his future and turn out to be a leader. He encouraged students to always walk on the correct path and be the change. The Principal, Ms.Banumathi motivated the children to keep moving forward despite all the obstacles and challenges that life throws in front of us. With the flags held high and heads standing tall, the ceremony concluded with the National Anthem.
