CHENNAI JAPAN EXPO


                     The CHENNAI JAPAN EXPO ,providing a showcase of the culture and specialities of Japan was  organized by the Consulate-General of Japan in Chennai and ABK-AOTS Dosokai, Tamilnadu Centre on 14th December 2019 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at GRT Convention Centre, "MARIGOLD HALL",  T. Nagar, Chennai.

                  The students of Velammal NewGen schools had a special invitation for this from Ms.Megumi Shimada, Researcher/Adviser,Culture & Information Section,Consulate-General of Japan in Chennai.The students and teachers from Velammal NewGen schoolsof Medavakkam & Madipakkam visited the Expo which  included cultural exhibitions of Japanese traditional dolls, Nendo No Tezukuri (handmade clay art), Ikebana (art of flower arrangement), and Bonsai (tray planting). 


                  The Expo  not only showcased exhibits on Japanese culture but also had information on Japan about, Travel, Education, Japanese language, and Tourism provided by the participating organizations "ALL NIPPON AIRWAYS (ANA)", "THE JAPAN FOUNDATION", "JAPAN NATIONAL TOURISM ORGANIZATION (JNTO)", and "THE UNIVERSITY OF INDIA, TOKYO OFFICE".

                       The "CHENNAI JAPAN EXPO"  provided an opportunity for the students and teachers to know more about Japanese culture and information on Japan, paving way for further strengthening the mutual understanding and friendly relationship between Japan and India.
