Pongal Celebration at VNGS Madipakkam.

VNGS Madipakkam celebrated the “Pongal” on 11.1.19.

Pride and festive cheer marked the day. Students came in their traditional dresses and enthralled the audience with their performances. Joy and pride filled the campus with the land’s cultural aura. A plethora of programmes were presented by the KG and Primary students. The programme commenced with hearing of God’s word, followed by prayer and prayer song. A graceful Bharathanatyam dance welcomed the audience. Popular folk songs and dances added excitement amongst the audience. Silambam by the children was the best part which left everyone mesmerized.

Dr.H.Jameel Rizwana (HOD of Binocular Vision Therapy Clinic, Sankara Nethralaya) was the Special guest. She enlightened the audience on the kind of services at world renowned Sankara Nethralaya and the importance of eye health. She distributed the Certificates for Grades 5,6& 7 for having participated in the competitions conducted on account of 'The World Sight Day 2018'. Through the celebrations students learnt that these festivals are sacred moments that help everyone to establish love and unity and also nourish their relationships.
