Pongal Festival time and traditional games at Medavakkam

                                                        Traditional Games of our country are not just games, they are games designed in such a way that one develops lot of skills like logical thinking, building strategy,teamwork, concentration,basic arithmetic, aiming, and lot more.In  this modern lifestyle we all are busy with our daily chores and work. And Velammal NewGen Kids took the opportunity to arrange for a gamut of traditional games to give an energetic day out for the parents of kindergarten (Playschool & JKG)who were caught in the clutch of monotony.Along with their children they participated in these traditional games of  Tamilnadu,Man Manakkum paarampariya Velayatu on 12th Jan 2019 ,Saturday. The parents
were so excited to participate which made the environment so cheerful and bright as most of them had also dressed  up for the occasion in traditional attire .The event kick started with the parents participating in  games like Sakku poti and the rest that followed were Uppu Moote, Paandi, Kannamoochi,Neeya nana, Pongal making, Rangoli, Kayiru thandudhal etc in the school grounds.The indoor games lined up also gave a chance for them to explore games like Pallan Kuzhi, Goli,Bambaram, Paramapadham etc along with their kids. A memorable day out for the VNGK parents and students of Medavakkam. With Pongal festival right around the corner,this day organised by Velammal made them bond,connect and also learn about our rich tradition and culture.
