A moment worth cherishing...Joint Sports Day of Velammal NewGen Schools, Kelambakkam, Navalur, Sholinganallur

 Velammal NewGen  Schools, Kelambakam, Sholinganallur and Navalur organized the Championship day- Joint Annual Sports Meet on 16th February 2019, (Saturday) in PBEL- INCOR grounds with great zeal and excitement. The ground was full of budding athletes and brimmed with energy. Students of Velammal New Gen Schools were dressed in vibrant house color  sports uniform.
The programme began with a prayer song led by the school choir. Mr.Nathan Sambandam. CAO, Mrs.Ramya Ramanan, School Group Head, Principals Ms. Sushmita Deb, Kelambakkam, Mrs.Banumathi, Shollinganallur, Seema S.Dogra, Navalur welcomed the guests with bouquets, that was followed by the presentation of momento to the Chief Guest Shri.M.K.Ramesh, Assistant Commissioner Of Police, Pattabiram range. The other Guest of Honour, Master.Pragyannanda, Youngest Grand Master in the world, student of Velammal graced the occasion with his presence.
The Chief Guest hoisted the school flag and the Sports Captain invited the chief guest for the inspection of the March Past troops. The Chief Guest took the salute to the impressive March Past of the students coupled with some stirring marching music by the school band followed by a synchronized display of marching by the four  contingents of Kelambakkam, Navalur and Sholinganallur. The sports meet flame was lit, which symbolizes "The light of spirit and knowledge of life."
The oath was taken by the School Pupil Leader and the students solemnly pledged to uphold the spirit of true sportsmanship.A beautiful welcome dance added charm followed by Zumba exhibit, Pyramid, Karate Silambam, Aerobics and Yoga, all a treat for the eyes of the 3500 plus parents gathered with their cameras focussed.
 With track and field events the students proved their mettle  attracting cheers from spectators. For the events conducted for parents, teachers and non-teaching staff prizes were given by the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour & other dignitaries.The individual championship was also distributed .The audience applauded the participants throughout.
Shri.M.K.Ramesh, Assistant Commissioner Of Police, Chennai city, shared his views .Finally the meet was declared closed by the Chief Guest Shri.M.K.Ramesh and the flag was handed over to the Sports Secretary and to the Principals .The entire event was seamleassly woven together with the support of  Mr Rajasekar, GM(HR).  Shri.M.V.M.Velmurugan, CEO,Velammal NewGen Edu Network formed the bedrock of support for the entire event.
